a violent bang rumbling through the floor of the plane

“The flight could get a little rough,”I heard through my headphones, preparing for take-off headed for the cancer center. Whispful thoughts wafted through my mind, as the beautiful waves of mystical fluff tumbled over mountaintops.  However, the dream of fairies and fantasies was abruptly invaded by a violent bang rumbling through the floor of the plane.  All 206 bones of which I occupy were brought to attention.

I turned to my pilot and said. “I think we just hit Gabriel.”

Prosecute the jury, burn the script, reclaim your soul from the emotional dictatorship you sold it to; birth the passion from within and build a value system based on your inner gyroscope.

This was my answer when someone asked me what advice I would give to someone who feels worthless.

My son shot this photo inside the cave where we are going to be filming a short piece called Mary Magdaline’s Message.

Luke 24:1-6

1Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. 2And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. 3And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: 5And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6He is not here, but is risen...

What do they have that I don’t?

What do they have that I don’t?  Is courage really forcing yourself off the ledge willy nilly?  Why are some people not so threatened by risk?

I took inventory of those people in my life and discovered a common thread.  They are not as afraid to look foolish when trying something new.

Courage begins with the confidence to fail with dignity.

Walking Like a Mummy

the joy of dirt

I haven’t been moving around much but Saturday I mustered courage to answer the call of the land.  I pressed some beet seeds into the dirt of some old flower pots and covered them up with leaves. I couldn’t have enjoyed it more than if I was a little tike building sandcastles, first time I’ve had dirty fingernails in quite a while.

Moving muscles and bones that haven’t been worked in so long, came with some unforeseen consequences. Yesterday, I was so sore, I was walking like a mummy, and today I’m still quite mummified.

It’s a good kind of sore.
